I am a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Astrophysics. My interests are stellar evolution, star dynamics, compact objects and gravitational waves.
My research experience includes a brief project at UF and two Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs, which are summer-long internships funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
My first REU was during the summer of 2019 at Cornell University where I completed a research project on cosmic string microlensing for WFIRST with Prof.
David Chernoff. My second REU took place during the summer
of 2020 at the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) at Northwestern University where I worked with Prof.
Fred Rasio's research team studying the formation of intermediate-mass black holes in
young star clusters. This work was continued over the fall as my senior thesis and has resulted in a
publication recently submitted to ApJL. A few weeks before the start
of the Northwestern REU, I had the pleasure of working with Prof.
Paul Torrey and his team at the University of Florida on a brief research project that studied the metallicity gradients of galaxies in Illustris TNG simulations.
